Importers
Untangling the myriad of new customs legislation is a full time occupation. In today’s economic environment Importers don’t always have the resources to hire a full time advocate to keep abreast of the constant changes.
TCA Limited advisors have, at minimum, the Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation. Our team of professionals can assist, in a collaborative manner, to implement safeguards against the risk of fines and penalties from the Administrative Monetary Penalty System.
We can develop a clearly defined cross-departmental and external policies and procedures manual which, if followed, will significantly reduce the potential for error.
TCA Limited is different from many customs consulting firms because we focus on the importance of accuracy. We work directly with your Customs Department to develop and improve current systems.
From time to time, we discover an issue that can have significant impact on a particular industry. After research and development, we take the issue to market to measure support for class-action type appeals. These issues are what are commonly known in the industry as a 50-50 proposition. The cost of the appeal is borne entirely by TCA Limited, with the benefit being split between TCA and our client base.
Customs Brokers
TCA Limited strongly supports the Customs Brokerage Community and is a member of the CSCB.
Customs Brokers can sometimes find it difficult to provide importers with an unbiased opinion. The consulting department of a brokerage operation can be put
in a compromising position when auditing their own brokerage division’s importing processes. When this occurs, the broker is, in effect, auditing themselves.
We can audit your client’s importing systems with the goal of reducing their potential for risk. All information is kept in the strictest of confidence with separate final reports for the importer and broker.

TCA Limited can also assist with spikes in workload by performing account set-up procedures and managing large or complicated drawback, refund and appeals claims on your behalf.
